Do I need any prior dance experience to join?

Not at all! Our Bellydance Foundations and Empowerment classes are specifically designed for absolute beginners. We break down every movement from scratch, so you’ll feel comfortable and supported from day one.

Can I join a Fitness class if I don’t know how to bellydance?

Yes! Our Bolly-Belly Fusion and Shimmy Pop classes are "follow-along" style. While they use bellydance moves, the focus is on cardio and fun, so you can jump right in regardless of your skill level.

Are these classes suitable for everyone?

To create a truly supportive and relaxed environment, our bellydance classes are exclusively for women, Therefore, we do not allow guests or observers in the studio during class time.

As for body types and sizes, absolutely. Bellydance is a celebration of all shapes and sizes. Our Empowerment & Body Positivity class, in particular, focuses on feeling good in your own skin and moving in a way that honours your unique body.

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable workout clothes that allow you to move freely, such as leggings and a fitted t-shirt or tank top. Most students dance in bare feet or dance slippers. If you have a hip scarf, feel free to bring it, if not, we often have some available to borrow!

Is there an age limit?

Our classes are open to adults (18+) of all ages. Bellydance is a low-impact form of exercise, making it a wonderful way to stay active and flexible at any stage of adult life.

How do I know if I’m ready for the Intermediate level?

We recommend moving to Intermediate Technique once you feel confident with basic isolations and can maintain a steady shimmy. If you're unsure, enquire with Katrina for a personal recommendation!
